FM Belfast

For everyone out there who was first taken in the by Architecture In Helsinki school of infectious, hook-based quirky-nerd-dance, there have been few releases to date that have made any headway in evolving the unique vibe captured by anthemic jams such as AIH's "Do the Whirlwind" or "Heart it Races". Until now, of course. Enter Iceland's FM Belfast, whose T61 breakout track "Synthia" kicks like a jager-bombed horse at a Hot Chip show. If it's irresistible hook and unstoppable groove weren't enough, the song is about a broken synthesizer. Good gracious. Go and listen to it.

Night by REMIX

I brought you Chromeo's new (sensational) single "Night by Night" a couple of weeks ago, and I sure hope you guys liked it because the blogosphere has spit out two spicy remixes of it!

The Tremulance was first on the scene to remix it, and their version is awash in big synths and a groovy bass line. The vibe is very euphoric, but retains the light-hearted tone of the original (mostly via Pee's talk box, which has somehow become even more badass in the time since Fancy Footwork).

Siriusmo really brings the noise with his remix, however. I am personally a massive fan of Siriusmo's curious blend of slick keyboard and weird-as-fuck production (not to mention his affiliation with Modeselektor), and his remix of this tune is absolutely vintage Siriusmo. There's a sick bassline, weird keyboards, and an extremely wild breakdown. Listen to this one dudes, it's the effin' balls.
